SRX Cover fitment question

well i bought a cover for my srx on ebay....went to put the cover on won't fit....it seems like my handlebars are 3 inches or so rearward of where the indents for the handlebars are on the cover....tried putting handlebars in first but then can't get the front of the cover over the bumper.....tried for like an hour.....i do have a 2 inch riser.....took the old vmax cover and it fits on perfect...i know this is the stupidest question but arent the 98-02 covers supposed to be the same??? anybody ran into this....
 

I have a cover that goes down and covers the ski's but I have noticed that since I have put my bar hooks on that is is consideratly tighter but it still fits! Are you sure you didn't get hosed on the cover that you bought over ebay.......I know this doesn't help but it is something to think about!!

this cover just goes over the spindles....so ya i dunno whats wrong i didnt change windshield bar hooks nothing.....heres the link to it looks like its on an srx

thats your problem then, looks like the srx cover is more of a "custom" fit type cover and your max one is more "relaxed" fit..

i bet if took your riser off she'd fit like a glove..
 
its not the height thats the problem it appears to be the indents on the cover are 3 or 4 inches ahead of where the bars are with the cover on....if i took the riser off it would just loose height not distance from the front bumper....dunno????
