Has anyone looked at the Camoplast track now offered in a 1.35" lug? I believe it is a Predator. I saw some new on ebay from Ken's in Wisconsin. I was wondering if that track will work on the Viper without rubbing at the front heat exchanger. I know a 1.5" will rub w/o going to smaller drivers.
Also I put some handleballs on my handlebar ends last year from the Yamaha catalog made of alloy. Has anyone used these? My question is, did it rob heat from your handwarmers? Ever since I put them on, my handwarmers only feel luke warm at the hottest setting. Just wanted to check before I dig into more.
thanks

You should be able to run a 1.5" track with out switching the drivers. You will probably need to remove all of the tunnel and heat exchanger protectors to do so though.
With the protectors in place it will rub. Even a 1" ribs a little if they are on.
Also yes, they will rob heat from your bars. They are aluminium which is a good heat conductor and they hang out past the windshield. This is a common complaint.

I have a 1.25 predator on my 04Er. It rubs the protectors a little all the time and really hits on decell. There is about 1/8" clearance between the groves in the track and the heat exchanger protectors. But there is quite a bit of room between the lugs and the exchanger. We went back and forth about removing the protectors but I ended up leaving them in. Would rather wear a little grove in the track from the protector than make a hole in the exchanger.
the only reason to have front protectors in is if your using studs, other wise you can fit all the way up to a 1.75" lug with the 9 tooth drivers, I have done this on many sleds and they DONT rub if the protectors are removed, in my own personal sled it has a 1.5" lug, 9 tooth drivers with no protectors.

as already said you can definately run upto 1.75" on a viper with the guards out and running the 9 tooth sprockets.
