Anyone tried or know if it will bolt up. EXCITER440 motor in ENTICER340 chassis. Is the ignition stator the same? Just another project idea!!!!!

Head to the nearest snowmo salvage yard with tape measure, pen and notepad in hand if your serious. I've seen that the early yamaha stuff has a lot of interchange-ability. I don't profess to know alot about this swap, but if the exhaust work isn't a problem for you, then I'd think with some creative swapping, it should work. Good luck. I'd be a nice little sleeper. G.

It could be done but I'm not sure what you would gain over an Exciter. The books I have show an 80 ET340 to weigh 363lbs dry. 80 Exciter weighs 390lbs. The 440 engine will probably eat up most of that weight difference.
What you could end up with is an Enticer that has about the same weight and HP as an Exciter but with a much lighter duty drive system and track.
A 340 or 440 stuck into an ET300 chassie (345lbs) would be a lot of fun.
