I need help finding the forward shock on my rear suspension. I replaced the rear shock today to try to fix my rebound and the new shock didn't cure the issue. The suspension won't rebound. Does anyone know where I can buy an aftermarket new for the front or should I be looking at something else?

Don't spend anymore money until you pull and service that skid! Shocks may indeed be bad but I doubt that's your rebound problem. Those skids need a lot of TLC! My guess would be that the shaft in the rear is frozen along with lots of other stuff.

Personally would ditch the ol 95 skid and upgrade to the 96 xt or newer, we did th xt on my dads and it makes a WORLD of a difference, plus they have rebuildable shocks.
Costs about 150 for the skid, then you should replace bearing and such to make sure they are all good unless otherwise stated by the seller.

Where would a guy start on 'fully' servicing the skid? I'm not afraid of pulling it out but I want to get it fixed the easiest way. It does sound like metal on metal near the front. Is there a collar or bearing that will freeze???

MN, Once you pull the skid you will get a better idea of how everything works. There are lots of plastic and metal bushings and collars in this skid. I think you will find that a lot of the plastic parts are worn out or gone but the metal ones can be cleaned and reused. There is a pivot shaft just in front of the rear axle that always seems to freeze on these skids. It's #49 in this picture: http://216.37.204.206/xtremepowersports/Yamaha_OEM/YamahaSnow.asp?Type=13&A=136&B=26
It's kind of a big job but well worth it if your gonna put some saddle time on that sled.
