I just replaced the track on my Viper....what the heck does clipping your track mean???

Kinda hard to explain, look at the holes on the inner side of the track, see those metal tab sort things... those are clips, clipping your track is putting new clips on, some tracks are only clipped like every 3rd window, ( a hole being a window)
Kinda get it?

What's the purpose of the metal clips? I've always wondered...

Well theres two different purposes if im not mistaken, one being the frictional advantage against the sliders, of wet metal vs rubber, and second they act as a reinforcement against the rubber lugs that are being turned by the drivers......

the newer clips even have grooves cut into them to hold the snow better, i thought that was pretty cool
