hi guys. i have a 97 sx 700. the machine is stock except for a Bender clutch kit and a performance can. the sled idels at about 2000 to 2200 rpm. if i "bar" the throttel from an idel it bogs until it hits the powerband. what can i do to resolve this?

seems like i am dealing with this same issue....carbs should be cleaned.....and then check the fuel screws, sounds like its running a little lean and fuel screws need to come out a bit..

i changed the plug caps last year, i think there ngk brand caps. i was personally thinking it was running too rich because it smokes. the sled will smoke alot when i first start it untill it is warm then it seems to calm down but still smokes alittle even when the engine is warm. where is the oil pump on my sled and how do i check it out? is there a oil flow adjustment? keep in mind i have little experence trobble shooting small engines

by 'lean' i mean in the fuel/air mixture.....the oil pump is a whole different mechanism...

the forums are great for all kinds of info on carburator cleaning/adjustment and oil pump adjustment. Just do a couple searches for both and you will find tons of info with pictures to help you out. Make sure to check out the technical pages too.

Your lean down low. turn out fuel screws 1/4 or 1/2 turn until sleds idles down to 1700 rpm & bog should be gone.
