For the first time I dug into my sled myself and I couldn't be happier. Had some help from a few guys about the clutch screech by taking the shims out of the bolts behind the secondary, read a thread about a low speed bog and adjusted the fuel screw and used the GREAT instructions on how to clean the carbs.

I know I did everything right on the carb cleaning and made very sure there were no places for air to leak at the air box but am still just a little concerned because the sled has never run this well. The only change I made to the carbs was 1 1/2 turns on the fuel screw as opposed to the original 1 1/8 to help the low speed bog. Is that enough of a change to take the sled from being quick to a screamer? I always thought my sled was a little tame in the mid-range but now the acceleration almost scares me. Just hope the old saying they always run best before they blow up doesn't hold true.

Thanks for all the help and advise.

It may have been a combo of both your adjustments. Clutching will give that feel too when properly adjusted. Sounds like you did a good job.

If you are concerned, you should just check your plugs. I would bet they are just fine. You are just getting the benefits from a few things all being adjusted right at the same time. Glad to hear things worked out well for you!!!

Plugs are a desert brown in color so I guess all is good.

I have never felt anything pull like this - 50-80mph was in the blink of an eye and it was still pulling.
