HELP!--I've got a 3 short blinking temp light that has stumped my dealer & Yamaha. The code says it's a heated grip problem. The grips have been replaced, all connections checked, wire harnesses checked for chaffing, etc. It happens only after full throttle acceleration, then quick release of the throttle. Applying the brake makes no difference, but the blinking light goes away if the grips are unplugged. This is on my 2001 SRX 700. Anyone know what's going on?

Have you checked your servo motor/powervalves?

Sorry folks. I'm wrong about the 3 short. It is fault code 3 for discontinuity of the heated grips. There was another code for the thermo sensor that was replaced and the fault went away. Now it's showing the grip fault (but the grips seem to work fine). The fault only appears when releasing the throttle after a big burst (maybe a surge of some sort?)
