A buddy of mine at work has been looking for the right deal on one of these two year SRX's. He asked me yesterday if anyone had problems with the 2002 detonation sensor prematurely tripping on top end runs. I said I wasn't sure but, I knew some members here might have the answer.

Yes. Detenation problems. Jet to 01 specs to resolve. Do a search.

Wasn't the 2000 jetted the leanest , if I remember right? Other than jetting and graphics, there wasn't much difference with those three models years, right??.......correct me if I am wrong.

The 00 and 02 were jetted the same, and the 01 was jetted richer. The 01 was the first year with the split controls for the hand and thumb warmer. The 01 also has a lighter brake rotor than the 00. The 02 had the DCS. Other than that, graphics are basically the only differences.

Never had a problem with my 02' . I had a 01 burn down on me though. I kinda like the insurance of the DCS system. my2cents

I am jetted to the 01's on my 02 SRX.And with the HC's setup with the hard pull,DCS is staying off.Only flickered once last weekend when I punched it from a standstill at a -30 C. windchill day.I thought that was good according to last season when I couldn't pin it hard from a standstill without it going on.

That's about an hour south of me. What would a fair price be on that SRX? I did a Kelly Blue Book on it. It comes up to $3610, not taking into account the almost no miles. It does give you a price increase figure for extra accessories or superior condition to the tune of about $400 more.

My guess is it is gone. If not it seems like a good deal, see if you can get some kind of warranty if it is really NEW. My god if that were true the guy should have left it in the crate!!!!! Be worth some serious $$$$ some day being an 2002 at that!

The only dealer I could see, would possibly be Cannon Falls or Faribault. As you can see ,the number two dealer listed is Jerry Fix Powersports. hmmm............maybe it is fishy. I'll send the guy an e-mail to see what the scoop is.
