Ok I have a couple questions. I am runnign 8dn-20s with 4.5 grams both holes and close to a 1gram washer in the tip. with a 51/43 green spring.
IM haveing trouble getting my rpms down. will a softer primary spring help me out.
Also have 8bu-00 with 2.7 in the tip middle hole empty, would a stiffer spring help raise rpm. ? like a green white green
also this may be a dump question how do you read springs, what does the rate, preload and total force efect idividually.

What spring are you running now? What are your rpm,s right now from start to finish? Sometimes a primary spring change isn,t all you need; you probably need to move some mass around the weights; depending on where rpm,s are now.

wth the 8dns i wasengaging at 3800 reving 8400 at 80deg and it stays there tull about 90mph backshift 8400. thats as fast as i can get it up to infront of my house not anough room. Im going to try the 8bu-00 tommorrow with just 2.7 grams i nthe tip. for fun I tryed your srx 1000ft setup with 3.6 tip and 2.4heel. It screamed never felt my sled pull that hard out of the hole. But it would only rev up to 7900 at 79deg with ywy. So I then tryed a 2.7 tip and 2.4 heel and it revs 8050 and climbs slowly backshift seems to be 7950.
I didnt really notice much difference switching from www to ywy primary.
I did all these runs on a 1/4mile dirt roat with packed snow. temp was about -5c
I did notice the primary was hotter then secondary.
IM also thinking my ywy may be a bit worn its got 4000miles on it. and my www I bought used.
I may keep things the way they are and order some new springs and ramps. and see what happens then.
