Hey guys I was out on the St. Louis River last night ripping around with a buddy that bought a new nytro...........Wow do they rip!!!!! There was plenty of ice (I think) and we did find some soft slush spots but they are fun to play in!!! I can't believe how hard that new nytro pulls!!!!He still has to setup the suspension but I was watching him pull 5 ft wheelies...and at about 40 the ski will lift for a 100 ft by grabbing the throttle....I got on it and it is totally a different animal compaired to what I am used to....It feels like a cross between a jet ski and a dirt bike, with the balls of a crotch rocket. The throttle response is insaine. He used to have an apex and that new nytro sure feels like it pulls harder. He has to go through his break in period yet so I was unable to see what she will really do, but all I can say is WOW and A+ Yamaha!!!!Oh and the 40th aniversery sure looks cool.

I rode a nytro at the demo ride the other day. It was fun, but just not me. I do like the way they sit. But the ride was pretty harsh and my arms hurt from hanging on and my face hurts from the perma grin. Lots of power throughout the throttle range. The sound is awesome, and at 60 it would still lift the skis if ya pegged the throttle.
I also rode the phazer. It seemed pretty underpowered and vibrated a lot. I was pretty happy to get back on my Viper for the ride home.

I can't wait til I get to try one out.
Looks like I will have to wait until early feb.
That's fine, since as soon as I ride it I will want one...

Yeah they do come setup a little stiff in the front. He has been playing with the suspension. The fox floats on the front were set at 75 psi stock and he is 220 pounds and if his pushes down on the bumper with all his weight it only will travel about 1.5 inches.....so we brought them down to about 60 pounds and we are going to see what thats like.....and man are they snappy!!!!

FX Nytros are fast sleds, no doubt. I demo rode one last spring at the Geneva snocross and it was a nice sled. I didnt much care for the way it cornered, I found it to be somewhat tippy. However, if its set up really stiff from the factory, that would contribute to tippy cornering and Im sure you could remedy that by turning down the spring preload (or remove air from the air shock if it has Floats).
The Nytro was a sled that Yamaha needed in order to shut up the people who say that Yamaha cant build a good big bump sled.

I went on the demo ride up here in Houghton yesterday with some Polaris and Ski Doo gurus, and what a surprise. Everyone one of those boys that rode a nytro said that would be there next sled for sure. The ski doo boys said that the new Rev XP was junk compared to the nytro in quality and comfort.

Sorry guys......just go test ride them on the weekends at the local dealers and tell them that you are really interested. Ask to take them for a day. Then you will never have to buy one.LOL
