I Have a 98 500xtc. I am trying to dial in to correct shift rpm. I notice on the web site that I have linked that different years max there hp at different rpm. Is this just a dyno variance or should I be looking at my exact year. most of the info for cluttch rpm on this site points to somewhere between 7600 and 7800 for the shift but that does not seem to be the case for the 98
98 - 90 to 91 at 7900 - 8200
99 - 82 to 93 at 7700 - 7900
00 - 88 to 89 at 7600 - 8000
01 - 88 to 89 at 7600 - 8000

Run it at 7800 rpm. 99.9% of em work best at those rpm,s.

Thanks Turk, It was running at 8100 to 8200 before I started adding weight, I'm at 7900 Now. I'll Try Dropping it a little more.
