Need some advice on my clutches

my clutches seem to be quite dirty, i have blown either two or three belts and there seems to be some of that rubber stuck in some places. And the faces of my clutches seem to be a little rough from sitting through the summer (in my garage that is, so its nothing extreme) lol. I was wondering if anybody can give me an in depth procedure to properly cleaning my clutches since i have never gone through them and cleaned them before.

I've done hot soapy water and a green brilo pad and work pretty good...Dry them with the wife hair dryer...Some guys Like emery cloth better...
And I heard the dishwasher work like a champ (no kidding) but I haven't tried that and besides I will have to get a new after that....
