How to check Oil Pump adjustment on a Triple?

Anyone know the best way to check and adjust the oil pump on a 600 sxr? I belive that I need to turn my oil pump down but it takes an act of god to get at the oil pump.

You make the adjustment on the cable up, near the air box. Seperate the cable and measure the distance between the outer parts of the cable. Here is a picture out of the manual. Click

I believe that the cable has been torqued after racing a few years. Some how I must missed this detail in my book. Thank You.
