when i am driving in deeper snow or powder and the track is spinning away....i seem to get a loud clunking noise and i am not sure what it is. some people said i should tighten up the chain tensioner. give me some ideas

does it only happen under power it could be your chain jumping or your track rachting if you suspect chain you should pull chain case cover and inspect chain if its ok possible track just tighten to specs

Besides the two obovious above. I have my front heat xchanger protector come loose and it would smack the track and make a racket.

I would suspect the chain or ratcheting as well as there it not as much pressure on the track allowing it to ratchet. Get a new gasket for the chaincase and check it out and make sure all is well.
