good news guys the wall wasn't hurt at all just a bunch of chunks next to the crank i just got it all cleaned out and ready for the new pistons and rings... i have a # here on the good piston could any one tell me if its yammie or aftermarket???#8ca10
those are yamaha with the 8ca on them, they look to be well worn by the looks of the skirts, thats why the skirt broke actually, when the rings get worn and dont keep the piston stabil, it begins to rock back and forth in the bore and eventually leads to this.
Those skirts are worn badly!!! How many miles on the sled? I bet yamalube or other than synthetic was run in the motor all its life with the original piston rings.

but the wall where good to go!!!! thank god what made it just BAM lose power it seams to of been happing for a while... or not??? one piston is clean and the other black.... i leaned it out with no carb clean???? i just got the sled for the wife and " it runs great" line was used so i just spent money on the looks of it and didn't worry about the motor... big mess up!!!!

ps the speedo doesn't have a cable???? 1500 miles...lol lol witch i don't need the speedo my mod srx don't have one one eather i took it out cuz its a mod with hood clips its easier to take the hood off
do yourself a favor, clean the carbs, buy 2 new pistons, 2 sets of rings, 4 circlips and new pins and bearings. have someone run a hone thru the cylinders real quick. Make sure as heck you have all the debris cleaned out of the bottomend, I would wash it with kerosene and then oil the bearings with fresh 2 stroke oil and reassemble it all.
the reason 1 piston is black and the other is silver is beacuse the one thats all silver had serious detonation going on, could be caused from dirty carb circuits or incorrect jet size, the skirts broke off because therings were toast a 10000000000 miles ago and let the piston wear the skirt then it all just rocks back and forth in the bore.

i did clean it all out, honed and oiled with oil i just need pistons and rings i was just woundering if it was yammies so it had not been bored or what not.... good stuffman the wife will be happy with the way it runs when i'm done because the first time we took it out i jumped on with her on it and took off wot and it went but realy sluggish.... in my head" man this thing is a slow peace of s*** " but happy about jumping back on my mod.... lol lol thanks for the feed back its been a bunch of help... should i have anymore probs if i make sure the carbs are clean and jets are right? what should be the jetting we ride from 5000 to 10000 and it has psi pipes
