Just thinking about racing coming up and wondering how low can i go in the front of my srx, as far as center to center in shocks is concerned ?
ill just go to the local sled salvage and grab a set off any sled dont matter what there off, only will be used when i race but im wondering what size i should be looking for....
also will there be any real gain in holeshot with switching the shocks?

Are you talking about lowering the front of your sled??
The way I did it was to take all the tension off the front shock springs and have somebody stand on the front bumer to compress the front while you take some old limiter staps and bolt them eye to eye of the shock

I have done it by taking the pretension off the spring and then strapping aswell.. It works OK. Would also like to find a shorter spring as I do not like the look of straps or wires hanging on the sled..

Yeah exactly^^ i didnt want to strap it and yes the front of the sled
what im probably gonna do is put a jack below the front, then remove the shocks, lower it as low as i comfortably want to go, then measure center to center of the mounts add a inch, then go to the sled salvage yard with some tools and grab two shocks around that center to center doesnt matter to me what there off

In all honesty it may be hard to find a set of shocks off a sled that are shorter than the srx front shocks. They are a very short design because the ski stance is so narrow for an IFS sled. You may be better off finding a set of used kybs and sending them to a shock rebuilder to put spacers inside that limit the rebound travel of the shock to your desired eye-to-eye dimensions.
