Any novel ideas on how to prevent or at least minimize damage to the snow flap when reversing in deep snow (other then not reversing in deep snow)?
;)!

You can either shorten to snow flap or use cables or straps of some sort to push the snowflap out. Some methods I have seen are thick rubber strips bolted on one end to the rear tunnel clip and the other end to the snowflap. Make them long enough so that they have a tendency to push out on the flap. or you can bolt a strap to the outside and either up to the bumper or up to the rear tunnel clip again to pull the flap back and up. Either method works. Bending the rear clip up somewhat with a channel locks (trying to do it evenly all the way across so it looks decent) also helps keep the flap up.

I installed a piece of flat hard plastic between the the tunnel and the snow flap , it extends down almost halfway on the flap and keeps it stiff sticking out the rear . I got it from Total Recreation (705)327-0796 and it came off a Ski-Doo that they parted out so maybe it is something a dealer would have but I would make before paying . It had the same four rivet holes as the snow flap , works great ......

I have the same problem. Was going to cut a piece of aluminium to run 1/3 the way down the flap and put it between the tunnel and the flap as described above.

That's exactly what I did-- works good but you still have to be careful when you back off the trailer not to stuff the azz end into some deep hard snow
