I just installed ajustable rods and I love them. The sled handle's great. The track hooks up well and will pull the skis off the ground. I have them set at the highest transfer setting. The track is studded. The problem is that when I gas it real hard it sounds like the studs are hitting the top of the tunnel. Do you think this can happen from the new transer rods or should I look into something else. Thanks.

Look under the sled and see if there are marks in the tunnel where the studs have been hitting anywhere...its definately not hard to tell. You will see scratches/gouges if they have been hitting something. Check the front heat exchanger as well. More likely, your track is too loose and your track is ratcheting from having too much traction and the track drivers are slipping inside the track. If your studs aren't scraping on anything, try tightening your track up some and see if it helps.

You dont want to run them at the highest setting while trail riding.. you'll bust your w arm!...I run mine at 4 line or about half way when trail riding. If your drag racing ..then turn em up but other wise put em lower!

I ride my MM700 at maximum setting and my w-arm is still ok after 1000 km of trailriding (and 3000 km of boondocking). Some of it at maximum speed, but of course not when really rough trail though. Have Ohlin shocks all around if that makes any difference.

Just want to point out that it is as much a matter of being careful when trailriding with maximum transfer. If unlucky u can crash it at the very first bump if the speed and the bump is "right". No critizism, just to say that if you are careful u can trailride with that setup also for thousands of kilometers.

I tightend up the track and it is fine. This sled is awsome now. I also installed plastic skis a 6 inch carbids. I highly recommend the transfer rods and plastic skis. I love this sled. It is so fun on the trails. Everybody on new sleds have a hard time keeping up with me. The thing handles like a BMW.
