i long traveled my srx and (when it sits without me on it) when i lift it there is about four inches of slop before the track comes off the ground is that normal

do you mean the track is that loose, or do you mean that the back end is 4" high before the front of teh track lifts off the ground

when you long travel, the transfer rods need to get longer. you can buy aftermarket, or what i did was make steel sleeves, in side diamter for the botl to go through, outside diameter the same as the transfer rod shaft, so that the other half slides over this bushign liek it is jsut an extention of the stock part.
then mix/match plastic bushings to get proper gaps on both side ( when you are sitting on it) you can lean over the seat and take yrou feet off the ground while looking and measuring the gaps

if the track is sloopy, then tightedn the back axle to get the proper 1" or is it 2" gap when pulling the center of the track 10 lbs of force

Marty mine is the same way and I have the transfer rod extensions. I hope it is normal, rides a whole lot better!!! Seems my wifes SXR has about the same amount of movement in it too. I just went through both sleds last week.

setup

yes i have the long traveled rods and shocks and movedm the rods to the back hole but it sure does seem real squishy, when i pick up the rear it feels like there is wasted shock travel

have you rebuilt your skid?? or did you just install shocks. if you didnt rebuild it, there is a ton of lost shock travel.
if you or anyone reading this thread has not rebuilt there skid, please read below.
