98/99 srx 600 CDI on 98/99 SRX 700

I think my CDI box has died on my 98 MTN SRX & I have been reading different posts on here. I came across this one & was curious what other people have to say about putting a 600 cdi on a 700.

its a good cheater trick for drag racing but not something I would do for trail or everyday riding, I forget specifics now but recall something on the rpm when the powervalves open is differnt too between a 600-700 engine.
