I noticed that the slides in my carbs go past the bore of the carb itself, and up in the slot/track that is above. I hope you understand what I mean.
It goes past it by 2-3 mm. Could this condition be leaning the jetting out on top end because a turbulence is created by the "gap" created when the slide is not flush with the carb bore, but indeed over it.

They are supposed to over-pull a little bit because of machining tolerances, possible cable stretching, etc. It doesn't hurt anything to have them pull past the top of the bore a little bit. Its not like these are exactly laminar flow carbs anyway, the flow is already quite turbulent, even in the venturi.
