Ok I just rebuilt my viper everything is perfect except i forgot to put the circlip gap vertical to the piston.
should I open it up and move them. sled has about 300miles on rebuild.

If you have 300 miles on it, I wouldn't worry about it. If there was a problem you would know by now.

I am thinkin he means the C clip for the wristpin. If that is the case I had never heard of the orientation being important.

theoretically, the gap should be on top or bottom, but never at the sides. with the gap at one of the sides, the up and down motion (sudden reversal of momentum) could cause a clip to unload and pop out. again, strictly theoretical,,,,,

out of all the motors ive rebiult at work the circlips are never in the same position always rotated around in differnt stops. i realy dont think it matters,
