I'f I remember right I used a rubber mallet and pounded the end of the axle until the big Idler on that side slid off... then the rest of the axle will slide right out. If you dont have a rubber mallet then put the bolt in the axle and hit it with a regular hammer, be careful though, you dont want to beat the head of the bold too bad.
yep I tried that with a block of wood I guess I have to try harder at least I know I'm in the right direction..Thanks

Sorry to hijack the post per say, but whats the best way to get the axel out if hammering it out doesn't seem to work?

we have hit it 100+ time and its not budging, Planning on heating the adustment collars which is where i think they are stuck, even the bearings are stuck on the axel.
some sort of puller on the wheel?

Take that arm off and take it somewhere with a arbor press.
you could be in a bad boat here ...I had problem with my axle ..tried everything to get it to slide out ..it was frooze on one of the collars ..finally put the heat to it(no choice) and melted the aluminum shaft in two ,..but i got it out , had to put another axle in her. somthings just wont fix, must be replaced, thats the way it goes with old shit. plan on replacing the axle!braindead1684 said:Sorry to hijack the post per say, but whats the best way to get the axel out if hammering it out doesn't seem to work?

I have a question for ya guys, when I put in my transfer rods and I put the bolt in the bottom of the rod, how tight are you supposed to tighten them???

I'll plan on replacing but hope i don't have to in the end i am happy with out out.
