have an 01 srx 700. want to long track it. have researched it a lot. getting different opinioins and theories as to what to do.

option one:
a hartman 136 with re-location of the skid and 9 tooth drivers and a 1.5 inch rip saw. only worry here is to harpoon the track. I have seen it done with one of these kits. (track if hit at the front will pierce the track as there is too much open space in front of the rails)

option 2,
tracks usa. They offer rail extentions, but no tunnel extentions, or hose covers etc. they claim i do not need these. only the rail extenions.
this does not make sense to me. how can this work? they claim to just add the extentions and ride. i feel they are not too knowledgable?

option 3,
find a skidoo 136 inch sc10 3, and try to figure out where to install it in my sled, and then install a tunnel ext, hoses etc.
this is the most expensive option, and everyone has a different optinion as to how to do this kit, and what the locations of the new skid are in the yamaha.

anyone had good or bad with these set ups?
if i do go option 3 (sc10 3), what are the measurements to make it work?

option 4. anyone have a yamaha 136 in suspension from a current model they want to sell?

any tips would be nice.

thanks guys.
ps we are having the winter of dreams in northern ontario.

I wouldnt go with either BUT!!!! I would JUST buy hartmans tunnel and rail extension kit. comes with the tunnel EXT, cross over pipe, rails EXT and hose covers.

Buy a good used 136 track on here or somewhere. Read up on it some put you can put some nice revalved viper shocks, viper limiter straps, and viper tranfer rods in the skid.

You wil save hundreds!!

I would buy the Tracksusa rail extensions because they are the strongest BY FAR and look the best BY FAR. Then I would get a tunnel extension from either a mountain max or from hartman or slp. Then get your track from someone like rich motorsports. Also don't forget to get mountain max hose covers for the rear heat exchanger hoses.

I just did a tracks USA 144" extension. Yamaha skid is definately heavier compared to some other OEM's. If you go with the 144" extensions they come in a tip up style . This helps it handle more like a short track on the trail but give you the extra floatation off trail. If I could have found anothe OEM skid for a reasonable price I would have went that way and still might if I find one later on. The tunnel extension from Hartmin Inc is a factory Yamaha extension along with the hose covers they sell. You can find some if you search some of the other forums. I found mine on snowest. I think the guy had another one that he might sell. If I can find the post again I can let you know. Personally I think a 144" is they way to go if you are going to long track a sled. There is only 11.5" of more track on the ground. Here is a couple of pics of what I have done so far. Plus the drop brackets that I made but you don't need to do this if you don't want to.

:2strokes: I plan to go off trail, no mountain riding as i am at only 1500 feet.
the attack angle is so abrubt that the sled trenches and gets burried.
i would like the sc10 3 set up, for the angel change, weight, and better suspension ride. I have no idea how to set this up.
any other ideas?
thanks
Rob

I'm ditching my pro action. I bought a 141" skid from an M7. With the setback I will use a 151 Camo. The skid cost $300 and weighs less than the 121 noaction. Many guys have used the cat skids on the Rx1's with great luck. The tunnel ext etc... I bought from Tom Hartman.

I have be thinking about doing the same thing. my 2001 (not my work)is already extended so I was thinking about doing my 2000. go to mountain performance and look at those kits. go for the 144... maybe a 1.25 or 1.5 track... also they have a large cooler for the rear...finished its a nice clean set up! if you buy a track from tracks usa you can get a better deal on the extensions...personaly I like those extension better. The only think is that after adding up everything its gets very expensive to make it a 136 or 144....

I am in the middle of a Hartman 141 - 151 extension on my 01 MM 700
I therefor have the 141 tunnel extension if you need one.
say 50 plus shipping. For another 100 I will include the tunnel gas rack and
the tunnel re enforcements
