i lost my key


thanks guys ill try that. if it wont fire on 4 pulls ill know. were expecting snow and my plow is broke the sled is behind it i cant sneak a truck by it
 
Sorry guys. But I have removed the posts explaining how to hot wire a sled. I'm glad that you helped, but these types of "tech tips" should be sent in PM's, and even that I would only do that to someone I know. We can't let posts like that stay in public view to help thieves steal our sleds. I hope you understand.

Could someone PM those instructions. My friend brought his sled to my house and forgot his key. He cant get it here in time for the weekend with 4+ feet of new snow!! I promise its not because I am jacking sleds from people.

How close is the next Yamie dealer...had a similar situation, & with six yamies in the group one of our keys worked, but the funny thing is he only had one key...lucky for us a nearby gas station cut keys & was able to match one up...

This only works on the older sleds from the viper and newer this will not work. I dont see any harm in those posts. Tell me if I am wrong.
 
Please refrain from the extra bashing comments on this topic. My mod was only doing what he felt was best for the people and the site you should be praising him not attacking... you owe him an apology. I can be hard to read on my rules and this is my fault more then his.
 
i had 2 kids go around my home town stealin sleds goin for joy rides doin that. after riding the sled theyd run them into the lake and the owners had to pay the enviormental fines. u know how they found out how to do it? me when i was 14 workin on my sled and they were there and saw me do it when i couldnt find my key. thats the reason i pmed u guys and the moderator. doesnt matter if the sled is worth 500 or 10,000 if it gets stolen because somthing as stupid as that. if all u can aford is a 500 buck sled it hurts juts as much as some one stealing ur 10,000 buck sled. im not saying that theives arent smart but its the younger kids that are stupid and have nothing else better to do then go for a joy ride and ruin some ones sled.

I agree with you, at first i was really struck to a aww so to speak that you wanted it taken off as i thought you were being overprotective....i still dont believe that its gonna be the cause of any thefts and whatnot but im not one to start a battle that doesnt need to be started, all my posts have been deleted... and im the worst with my sled to tell ya the truth, its always parked beside or directly behind another sled so its harder to move, i carry locks, remove my key everywhere i am and always have an eye out for it.... my sleds my baby plain and simple


Mrsled- Its not worth a arguement, if your mod took offense to what i said in particular dont know if you were refering to me specifically or others then sorry.
 
I deleted my post on how to hot wire a Yamaha. I'm sorry if I did a bad thing by answering the question. But where I ride everyone knows how to do this, so I did not think I was giving out any big secret. My dealer told me how to do it in case I ever lost or forgot my key. On the bright side anyone hot wiring a Yamaha and riding it off will freeze their fingers.
 
the sled i am speaking of is a 98 MM700. Dont know what year the trick stops working but if it does for a 98 it would enable an entire weekend of my friend on his 98 136 getting buried as hell. Which will be good entertainment for the rest of us...even tho I will most likely be buried myself
 
well no sh%t im sory guy!!! a maine guy lost his 1 and only key needed a little help cause his sled is stuck behind a plow that wont move cause of a u Joint and axle broke on the other hand 50 ft isnt far to pull a boat moring. take mine off too so i dont look like an @$$ hole or trying to steal a sled. i have no key. its gone. i can get one for 20 $, or wait till wed to get it from califorinia, my yami dealer told me thats how long it would take to get hear.and were geting snow tomorowand i need to plow. but im taped dry of cash my 18 wheeler has not showed up yet so im a little dry. just wanted to take a ride on sunday after my gathering. take mine off too MR sled :bash:
