I probably know the answer to this question just need conformation for a warm fuzzy!!! My stock viper with 2nd gen heel clickers, red HC primary spring is over revving (9,000 rpm's) I added 2 more washers to the tip of each weight for a total of 3. I had to turn the direction of the bolt around because it was hitting the sheeve near the rollers. Once turned around it has clearance. Does the direction of the bolt left to right vise right to left matter? see pic...the weight on the left is how I had to install the bolt to clear the sheeve. I sure hope the 2 added washers bring me down near 8600 RPM's because I can't add any more washers.

I'm about ready to go back to stock soon. I added two washers to the tip of each weight and it had no effect. I'm still revving 9,000 rpm's. Could something else be wrong? I took the secondary apart and looked at it and it seems fine. So here it is 2 1/2 hours before I leave for a trip to the UP and my sled sucks!!! I don't have the kit for tuning these weights so I don't know where to go from here. Can I put a different 5mm hex head bolt in the tip that might weigh more than the allen head bolt?

Add some weight to the inner hole. I often use that hole when i need more weight but then ur probably gonna have to lighten the tip.

well a stock viper would need 3.3, and 4.3 grams in the holes, 3.3 being the first hole and 4.3 being the tip, this along with a 48/34 helix with red sec. spring and it will run pretty good. looks to me like your trying to do it all in just the tip and what helix are you useing?

Yes I put a new belt on and washed it in hot soapy water before putting it on. The helix is a 46/38 with a green secondary spring at 70 degrees. Primary has red HC spring 16mm rollers and what you see in the above pic. Like I said I don't have a tuning kit so can I use a hex head bolt and nut vise the insert and allen head bolt? Thanks for the help and fast responses time is running out on me.

I order a gram scale back on the 5th and it still has not arrived so I can't weigh my set-up. Could I go to the dealer and get rivets that are that weight and just put them in instead of bolts and washers?

16mm rollers???? right theres your over rev, try 15mm or 15.6mm, 15mm would be the best to use.

you can use whatever hardware you need to as long as it clears the spider inside, however without a gram scale, your shooting yourself in the foot.

Well I have 2 hours and a field. I think I will play around for a bit and see what happens. I will let you know before I leave how I made out.

Man did I get lucky...I think. It's a long story but, I don't have a car today because the wife is working and my daughters car died so I gave her mine while hers gets fixed. So I had to use what was in the garage. I had a the fasteners for the windshield on my bike and some 5mm bolts I bought the other day. So I took the rubber off the fastener put some loctite on it and the 5mm bolt and put it in the second hole. Then I went and tested in the field. Punch it and it goes to 8600-8700 rpm's and pretty much stays there. Should be good enough to get me through the weekend.
Thanks for the help.
