Im looking for a shop within driving distance of central Indiana who can do some clutch work for me. I've been out of the sport for about 13 years and currently live in Alabama but got the fever again and went out and bought 2 98 Srx's. One has a can and studs and from reading on the forum it sounds like some clutch work can really give me some bang for the buck performance improvements. I would like to make that one sled run real good! Any help finding someone until I can learn enough to try it on my own would be greatly appreciated .
Thanks
Thanks

Im kind of far from you or I would do it
It's really not that hard. I never had a clutch apart till this year. Now its no big deal. With all the great info on this site, i'm sure you could do it yourself. Also get a copy of Olav Aaen's clutch book.

If you are mechanical at all I would just use the advice on this board. We can all help you get the parts changed. There are a couple proven setups that will get you almost perfect from the get go. With a 98 you will see a major gain over stock.

gonna try it.
Ok so what would you recommend me trying for my first time. keep in mind I want to have a hot trail setup if that makes any sense. I havent even seen these sleds yet but my dad has put his phone in his pocket and ripped around the field! It sounds good atleast. The sled has studs in the track and a aftermarket can. Other than that it is suppose to be stock. The sled only has 1100 miles on it. I am heading to Indiana on friday so hopefully I can get some seat time. Then the first weekend of Jan I will be driving north till I run into the snow! Where would you recommend purchasing the parts from? Thanks for all your help!

I called max pitts today and asked the service manager if they did performance clutch work and he told me they were a dealer and didnt do aftermarket stuff. But I was welcome to call and talk to Max who would be in later. Heck I was hoping for a deal since my fiance and I just spent 900 bucks on clothing from them!
As for my budget well....... a couple hundred maybe? I have no idea what a clutch kit will run me. I wouldnt mind in the future having some trail porting done to it. i dont need to be the fastest guy on the lake but i dont want to be the slowest srx either.
