I have a 02 viper that I'am going to extend to 136 and need to know what rear cooler I can get to fit.I'm running cpr pipes and already have an srx cooler in it,but from what I'am reading it won't fit in tunnel ext.Is this right or can I make it work.Or is there a certain tunnel ext. I need to use to make it work.
Thanks

The only extension that I am aware of that accepted an SRX rear cooler was from Maxximum Performance who (as you probably know) is out of business. You may be able to run a mountain Viper cooler which will help far more than the stock crossover tube that came in the shorty vipers or have a custom one made perhaps by mountain performance. obviously this all depends on if you are running studs or not. I use a mtn viper cooler in my 136 viper but I don't have pipes on it either. No cooling issues whatsoever for me.

you could run the stock 136 tunnel ext. from yamaha, then it will all fit like stock, off a mtn max from around 1997, 98 mtn srx

Just installed a srx cooler on a Hartman tunnel ext. Not a bolt in put not to bad to make fit. If I get time will try and take some pics. I think I did a search a while back and found some pics. of someone else that did it also.

we put a srx rear cooler in my brothers mountain viper 144" extension. as he only went 136" it fit in there with some dremmel work on the tunnel extension. we then took the old part fron the rear of the 121" tunnel and cut it down so it was the same size as the srx rear cooler. rivited it back onto the cooler and drilled from the top in the little channel built onto the top of the srx rear cooler. rivited the peice on. with the hose protectors on looks stock from the side but the extra cooling underneath is still great. only problem he had with it last season is in lots of new powder you have to clean the rear cooler off the next morning or it will overheat from the ice buildup.

Motodave and Maim are either of you running studs?Any problems with clearance on the cooler. If you guys have any pics that would be great.I was hoping I could use my cooler. How do your sleds look from the side, can you see any of the exchanger.
Thanks

we do not belive in studs so we do not run them at all. cooler is far enough back though that it would not need protectors.

With this ext. studs are not a problem.

I had a CPR piped Viper and I ran a Mountain Max cooler in my 136 extention, it is smaller and mounted nice in the rear of the Tracks USA extention I had.

I would say is was about as small as you really want to go though, my temps would be borderline in icey or low snow conditions

Thanks for replies and pics.I think I may have found a 141 tunnel ext. from a Mtn. Max with a cooler, covers and hoses.I assume it will fit with no troubles.
Thanks again.

You'll find it works better with the Mountain Viper rear cooler in either a Mtn Max ( you'll need to dremel the holes ) or a Mtn Viper rear extension, if you're going to go with the smaller cooler. The Mtn. Viper cooler has the same size piping as the Viper, the Mtn. Max has smaller diameter piping.
