I've done alot of searching on the tech section and here, and here's what I've come up with.
1999 SRX 700
-192 studs
-Vforce reeds
-gutted airbox(shelf inplace)
-power valves just cleaned
*Problem*
Under revving at 8K. Pulls up to 7800, then lifts to 8000.
*Weights*
Found 8BU-00 on the side of the weights, which is 48.7 grams.
I remember reading that 1 gram = 100 rpm. 8DN-20's are 42.09 grams.
If I installed 8DN-20's, would it rev out at 8600? Then...do you fine tune with the rivets in the weights?
Am I starting to understand the process or Am I way off?

My spring is red, it's on 3 and 6. The helix looks stock, but has a "51" circled on it and stock is a 47. ??????????
Oh yes, one more thing. I'm not sure what the primary spring is, but the sled has Hauck stickers on it. It engages at 4900rpm. Does the primary spring effect engagement only?
Please help me steer in the right direction!!!

what color is the primary spring? are the 8bu-00 weights empty or have rivets in them?
clutching is the balance between the right amount of weight and the right amount of spring pressure, without the one supporting the other you end up with a mess.

Il have to get the primary off, It's going to the shop tomorrow to get lined up and have the deflection set. I don't know how you do it Mr. Viper, dealing with clueless cats like myself. I really appreciate any advice you give out.

My sled is at a friend's garage, so I can't look a it til tomorrow. Would the high engagement effect topend rpm? Does the primary spring only affect engagement?

PRIMARY SPRING DOSE AFECT ENGAGEMENT, BUT ALSO AFFECTS PEAK RPM. SO WHERE YOUR GOING WITH THIS QUESTION IS YES, IT COULD AFFECT WHY YOUR ONLY TURNING 8000. BUT YOU PROBLEY HAVE AFEW OTHER THINGS GOING ON. JUST A GUESS, IF THIS SRX HAS HAUCK STICKERS ON IT, I AM GONNA TAKE A SHOT AND SAY THAT SPRING WILL BE ORANGE. YOU HAVE ME ALITTLE CONFUSED WHAT SECONDARY CAM YOU HAVE. IF THIS WAS A HAUCK CAM, IT WOULD SAY '' HAUCK POWERSPORTS " ON IT AND LOOK LIKE CHROME. !! 3:16 (yammie tony)

The secondary has "8BV 33......" something on it. I remember after that series of numbers it had a 51 circled and was wondering if the stock helix had the 47 circled?
It looks like a Yamaha product but the 51 is throwing me off as I've seen so many different helix combos.
