I honestly wish I could keep a truck that long, about every 4 to 5 years I get the new truck itch.
Impressive to say the least

Yea, we have 258,000 miles on our 2000 Suburban and it's still running strong on the original engine and trans. I need to get the wife to stay home a bit, these gas prices are KILLING me!
You know why because its a CHEVY!!!!

Ford baby! LOL. I'm a ford guy at heart, but own a chevy. It's awesome to see any gas truck with that many miles and no real engine problems. It's a true testament of what american automakers can do.

Venom, Ford lovers/Chevy lovers either is good by me...here we're all YAMAHA lovers that's for sure! I've just kept up with the maintainance on our BIG mile Suburban, nothing special. No synthetic oil, just good ole Valvoline 5W30 every 4-5K miles.

we only got 125k out of the 94 5.7 2500 GMC pickup my dad has.
Granted, the ream main seal blew out on the hwy, and roasted the motor in an instant.
We threw in a 95 5.7 with 60k motor in it, and its been fine since. I think the entire vehicle has 200k on it now, so, the motor has 100k on it.
I got over 400k on 2 different 86 ford broncoII's both with the 2.9 v6. The motors were original, but both had replaced auto trannies, 1 each at some point.
The eddie bauer 86 I had had over 450,000 miles on it when a drunk t boned me when he blew hi stop light and destroyed the truck. I was unscathed, I got like 3300 dollars from insurance for the truck, which IMHO was a lot more than it was worth. Had that accident not happened, I guarantee it would have gone 600-700k.
I have not had that great of luck with GM products, although I got 250k out of a quad 4 91 Calais (grand am) with only a head gasket in there at 65k, and a solenoid in the tranny at 150k, besides normal wear items exhaust, tires, brakes, fuel pump.

My Suburban is a 96 with a Vortec 454 Original engine and transmission transfer case. We use to pull boats, travel, sleds whatever. The odometer now reads 294,000 I was hoping to break the 300,000 mark by end of year, but I am a little short. I am amazed the ol big block is still running strong. I have used 15w40 synthetic since I bought it, No noise at all. I do have an injector leaking down. It is due for a complete set of injectors and pressure regulator. Last winter we were in Texas and the fuel pump quit, banged on the tank with hammer and lit back up. CHanged pump in summer. lol Brakes, oh boy, Every 3 months I install a new set of brakes. It eats them up, even with new rotors and drums. To many hard stops with overloaded loads. Check this load out
