I bought a real nice 97 Vmax 700sx last Sat. But hit a tree latter that night. The right trailing arm is bent real bad, and so are the front control arms. Would parts from a 2002 Viper fit?
No they wont. Spindle length is longer on the Viper trailing arm. I bought a Kimpex arm 1 time and it bent in less than 500 miles. I know the OEM are more expensive, but they are more durable. Contact Port Washington Yamaha or Richmotorsports for great prices and service.
i have the complete right side off of a 2001 sx500r that is in really good shape. a girl i know did the left side (sitting on the sled) in on mine. parts are just sitting in the garage atm. i would like $150.00 + shipping for arm and rods. priced it new and here in canada it was going to cost me $370.00 to fix mine at the time. i put the cb performance kit on mine for just over double what dealer wanted in parts. you do not want a kimpex yammy arm. they are nasty. shoot me pm if you want it.
the sxr and sx are different too. They sx is a short travel sled, and thus has a different spindle caster camber. Maxdlx

What do you guys think about straightening them out? The bend in the trailing arm is pretty severe, I know I'll end up welding a plate on the back side after I straighten it.
if you do that the next time it will bend your tunnel. They bend for a reason. Post a wanted to buy add or get ahold of betheviper, Scott has alot of parts, and may have what you need. He is a great guy to deal with. Maxdlx
