I was reading in past threads about undoing the transfer rods when installing the rear skid. Does this mean removing the bolt that mounts the transfer rod to the rail? or the bolt going up through the rod?

the bolt going up through the rod, you loosen it off nearly to the point of it falling out and that will allow you to install the suspension

I just installed my skid for the first time and it was pretty easy using this trick. G.B.
I thought it was the bolt that holds the transfer rod to the rail...no? That is what we take off on my buddies Yammis and it works great. We used to hate working on these sleds and now it is cake.

its the bolt that goes up the rod that you should take out to make it install MUCH easier. unbolting it from the rail will work also.
Try pressing down and forward on the track at the rear axle after the front bolts are started. You may be surprised what that does for lining the other bolts up. I don't even loosen the transfer rods anymore.
