Same here, mine starts easier and idles very nice. Been using iridium for about 3 seasons now. Love em

Ya-- what a difference a new set of plugs can make... I just had my sled out fired it up and was letting it idle- the more it warmed up, the lower the idle got until it sputtered out, running on 1 or 2. Threw in a new set and she came right back to life about 1600rpms, nice and smooth. They're br9es's that I've been using for 2 seasons. That's why I'm kinda curious if those iridiums will last a few years.

not sure, but maybe you could run them for the life of the motor. You can get them good for 100,000 miles on a car engine.....eh tom!!!!

more that. Thats when they say you should changne them but can go beyond.

Like I said. At 100,000 miles in my truck, It was very hard to detect any wear on the electrode.

We have come averyt long ways.

Back 30 years ago or less, 36,000 miles or so on our vehicles was a mandatory major tune up time. Today with the intrduction to the distributorless ignition system, those plugs, one coil per cylinder technology, we can introduce more spark at about 85,000 volts which in turn enables us to lean out the air/fuel mixture. more power and better economy. more economic.

back 30 years ago, we didnt have that technology and had to run a richer fuel mixture. our ignition systems with a distributor would only produce around 25,000-35,000 volts. 30 years ago at 100,000 miles, your engine was in need of a serious overhaul. not the case these days.

Anymore today your engine is just breaking in @ 100k..

bought a '95 black Grand Am GT last year for $500 bucks, needed a set of
H/G's, when i pulled the heads off and looked in the bore you could just see
yet the cross hatching on the walls from the factory honeing, and that's at
156,000 miles, tells ya somthing about todays cars/trucks..

if you look @ a iridium plug @ 100,000 miles it looks like new, just a little
bit of the tip will wear off and incress your gap, thats why they recommend
changing at 100k..

i'm kinda intersted in running these plugs in my 02 piped viper. what's the part # on the iridium plugs?

hey daman, I see you picked up a new toy....1997 v-max 4:)
