Picked this up from a fellow TY-er last night. Just did a quick wash this morning. I need to wax it soon. Now these 40* temps need to be gone!

Lookin good!! Now pull those pipes off and give them a good painting with some high temp flat black paint.Polish those heat shields on the pipes with some good aluminum polish. That track looks a little loose too.

Looks good Doug now ya got allot of work to do going through it and checking stuff out and cleaning.

deliverd the vm ok,the guy was happy with it?

yes need to get the right windy on her.

I have another "stock" clear but lower windshield for it. This was the sled that 2Strokin had for sale. The guy that bought my XT was really happy. He has a 380 ski-do fan and when he took the xt for a ride the way it's clutched for the pipes and the front end came up....I knew it was sold.

I wanted to do some cleaning before I tore into it too much. Tomorrow is carbs and PV's. Maybe some polishing. I doubt I'll get the pipes painted this year. I'd like to, but I have to work Monday.

I think I've read before that it is tough to get the discoloration off the bellypan at/near the exhaust.

I thought the track was loose too. I realize those stud hang some weight off there, so I don't know exactly how to put 22#'s on there. I'll tighten it up some when I swap out hyfax on it.

The sled has just under 4500 miles on it. I need to decide if I'm going to re-ring now or wait until after the season. I have the rings....

I need to figure out what will take off the registration/trail permits without damaging the finish. In MI we have just the sticker, not the number.

Use a hair dryer.Thats what i use and it works great. Then i use rubbing alcohol or goo gone to get the glue off.

You can soften the stickers with a hair dryer and then use a clean rag and WD40 to remove the residue. WD40 works great for this! Enjoy your new ride. G.B.

use simple green at full strength and a tire brush scrub hard
will get alot of it off.

what happened to the coolant bottle, its gone with some creative hose coupling and a old vmax inline pressure cap?? brake cooling duct is gone as well.

Damn them things were nasty, you lucky none pulled!!!

i'm sure your going to be running a good oil? Amsoil,Klotz....

I have both amsoil and klotz (a gallon of each) at my house that I bought and never used. The sled supposedly had amsoil run in it but he said they stopped pulling the pv's for cleaning a while back. They were tough to get out. I was worried about trying to get them cleaner. I didn't want to damage them. They soaked in aircraft paint remover for well over an hour. I wasn't sure I could take much more of the fumes.... When I put them back in they seriously just dropped in .

dunno why they would have stopped cleaning them, :D:DP,anyway must have been bad mine come out like new when done, anyway better then what they were..
