Ok so i have bought a 98 7800 triple and still dont have it but after its first trip i need to do maintenance and it needs clutch work. First of all it has been a buddy of mines since new but it spends all its time in the north woods and we are here so I dont think it gets much love. So what do i need to do to it? It is in good condition with 4800 miles. He installed a used track last year. I think the clutch has never been touched. I am 6,2 350 and want this to ride good on the trails. I dont car to race and I almost 50 so I dont ride on the edge. The guys I ride with are much smaller and 3 have newer 4 strokes and I just want to keep up on the trails. I am sure the clutch needs work but what should I do that is not stock.

Take some new clutch buttons along for sure. PM Turk or Mr viper for a good clutch set up. Maxdlx
you may want to gear it differently because of your size ,and you may want to gear down to like a 20-21 on the top gear with a 39 (stock) tooth on the bottom this will make your sled really responsive on the trails at trail speeds and a little slower up on top for those long straightaways. along with going through the clutches just to make sure that they're up to snuff.
