i have a 98 srx700
secondary:
black spring with pink dot
roller rooster
helix 35/31
80 degrees of wrap
b-w-b ptimary spring
8bu-00 with a single weight in the tip

as far as i know it has vforce reeds, cold air kit as for as engine mods... i noticed while cleaning the carbs it has 150,150,153.2 jetting and thats not stock from what i read from the tech pages... its runs ok but the plugs are always black and it seems hard on fuel but i ride mostly to the bar everywhere and really agressively... any ideas or input would be great
it just feels like it should be pulling harder

That clutch set-up is more of a short drag set-up. I would take it out and put a good trail clutch kit in there but keep the set-up you have now on the shelf in case you want to go drag racing some day. Those weights are not top-end weights and good for only shrt distances. That is why it doesnt pull very good on top end. There is not enough tip weight to squezze the belt on long runs. Those mains are pretty fat. I would run 148.8 PTO and 147.5 center and mag if the motor is stock. Try runing this set up for the trails. Its pretty good and very afforable.

Primary - 8DN-20 weights with both holes filled with 4.5 gram rivets. WWW primary spring

Secondary - 51/43 helix with a green spring set at 70 wrap. Spring will have a green mark on it.

I think you are right there tom.He could use that setup which I have ran or switch over to Heelclickers with 50/40.50/38 0r 50/36 helix's.Green spring at 70 for sure.I am running 50/38 myself.Still fine tuning, but almost dead on with clutching.

I might try some HC's in the future. I just dont waana fork out a few hundred for the weights springs and proper helix. How they working for you?

tom.almost got them dialed in.Getting a good gram scale, one that is more precise to weigh the weights with the bolts and washers dead-on.Pulls really good and clutches are nice and cool which was my concern from the beginning.I am topping out in the range of 8400-8500 which is my goal.Just waiting for some new pilot jets (45's) to solve my low end bogging, being caused by the weights loading up the engine more.Once this is done, should go like a bat out of hell.

the reason your jetting is fatter than stock, is because of the cold air kit that you have on it. bender said to jet up at least 1 size on each cylinder for the cold air kit, and up 2-3 sizes if you run the cold air kit and gutted airbox. I would leave the jetting alone, unless you do some wot runs and check the plugs, and then still can confirm a rich mixture even on colder days...like 0 deg feren. when you run a good trail clutch setup like what tomseal6 said, you're engine is probably going to be loaded a little more, and will want some more fuel.
