hooking up a tether on a gpx

Which wires do i use?and is it a normally open or closed ignition? how about a electric tach? i seem to remeber the green and black wires coming out of the stator were the ones to use
 

I put a little digital mini tach in my Exciter when I put a Comet on it. It had a wire you wrap around one of the spark plug wires, it seems to work pretty good although I had to remove the stock one and put a stainless steel plate in there with a cutout for the mini tach.
 
should be open as every 2 stroke yamaha i have ever checked has been. Only the 4 stroke sleds are closed
 
Okay,at least i got the right tether switch,i'll figure it out,hopefully before fri,test and tune day in Ironwood
