Viper - Low-mid Bog - Please Help
So my sled has been running good for the last 3 weekends, including half the day sunday. Sunday I was out and everything was fine...until I was doing donuts in about 2 feet of fresh. It got the typical powder bog but then it wouldnt go away once I was just riding normal. I thought maybe I fouled a plug so I checked them and they were fine. I swapped them out anyways. Sled still not right. It was running really rough on the low-mid range. At WOT it was running perfectly but as soon as I let off just a slight bit it would run like crap again, almost like it was running on 2 cyl. It was idling at normal rpm but moving from a stop it was rough.
I plan to clean the carbs as it hasnt been done in a while but I suspect something else might be wrong. Ideas? What should I check when I tear into it today. I dont have the luxury of riding testing it at my house since i am 2hours from the snow.

It could just be snow in the air box. I had a vmax that ran like crap if i got into a lot of powder. Dried out the air box and filter and all was good.

The snow wasnt deep enough that it was up over the hood.

plug caps? i had a hell of a time this year, my xt was running great, put triple pipes on it and couldnt get the thing to rev out. tried every clutch combo i could think of, still couldnt get over 8200. had the sled idling and just happend to push down on caps to make sure they were set tight well one push and a hell of a snap in my palm later i noticed a cap was arcing, new cap no more problem.

Plug caps seem to be fine. It doesnt have any problem reving up, just running rough at lower RPM. Could it be the TPS or TORS causing issues? Seems strange that the carbs may have all of the sudden clogged like that since i have run 4-5 tanks this month with no problems.

Did you try turning on the carb heaters? My Mountain Max does this sometimes and I turn on the heaters for half hour and the problem is gone. It really shows up bad when the snowdust hangs like a fog.

Quick way to check if its the pilots...flip the choke on and see if it seems to help.
A worn belt can cause a bog also.
