ok i have a 2001 sxr 500, and i wanna put a 144 track on it but need to know what kind of setup would be good to gear it low clutch wise and chain case gears, im not looking to go fast just looking to have a fun powder sled!
thanks in advance.

Your sled should have a 21-39 gear set up stock whisch is a 1.86 ratio. You could go all the way down to 18 teeth on the top gear and have a 2.17 ratio which I would think you would have some clutch work to do as it would probably over rev severly do to the motor being able to turn the gears/track easier.

When I did changed my 700 sxr to a 144 x 1.5, I changed to 8 tooth extrovert drivers and didn't change the gearing. The driver change did that. Turk gave me the clutching setup and he was right on.
To put a 1.5 in I'm pretty sure that u have to change the drivers and remove the front heat exchanger protectors. I used a MPI kit which relocates the skid back, gives u a shorter rail extension which is less likely to bend and changes the approach angle for less trenching.
