No,Not crack!!! I pulled the pipes off my 2000 srx 700 to change my chaincase oil when i noticed all three pipes have a tan dirt like coating in them.Is this corrosion? Normally the inside is oily and black from carbon. The piston tops are dry and black. The plugs are a nice dry cardboard color and the sled seems to run fine.Is this somthing to worry about, ive never seen this before.

Probably had some condensation in there and it dried out. Does it kinda look like a runny trail from stale water that dried up over the summer and left a little corrosion?

IS moisture (DEW) from the atmosphere able to get into the exhaust system from atmospheric pressure where where the exhaust exits. I think over time yes possibly, especially if it sits in a moisture potential enviorment and the sled sits forever and a day without being ran.

It did sit in an enclosed trailer for a few years i was told.Should i try to wire brush it out or just run it?

My srx looked like that after it burned down.Cant say if there is a issue.Have you ran it at all this year?

I ran it a little.I put on about 25 miles on the local trails. It pulls hard and runs great.Im taking it to tug hill this week so i hope all is well with it.

I may not know what I am talking about what so ever but didnt somebody say on here a while back that things left unattended in a motor and not ran for a really long time has the capability to build up to some kind of acidic level. Something to do with the fuel oil and air???????? along with moisure????

Have you cleaned the carbs since you owned it? Have they been cleaned this year? a LITTLE preventative maintainence goes along way and is not a expensive as rebuilding a motor. T

differnt oils and gas grades can have a big effect as to the coloring, alot of higher octane fuels do this and also the differnt oils used, what kind of oil has been run in the sled ?
