I am tossing around in my head maybe instead of converting my sxr or modding my sxr maybe I should buy a viper. What would make me buy a viper I keep asking myself. I do like my sxr but you know how it goes. It has duel headlights already and alittle more hp ( not much 10-15). I just can't decide. Also I keep hearing whinning about the pv and keeping them clean. If I would get a viper there are like 3 different to choose from & 3 yrss to choose from. So many decisions :o|

Anyhow anyone have any pointers or feel like typing some imput.

I did some searching on this last yr and this yr. I am just undecided what I want to do.

Thanks to anyone that can post back :ban:

I dont know what kinda riding you do, but if it were me Id keep your SXR, pipe/clutch it and throw in a Mono, ExpertX, M10. Youd have one well of a ditchbanger esp. if you raised your bars up. Plus your SXR is already sitting lighter than a Viper but if/when you pipe youd actually shave more weight and add HP. Just picked up a 01 SXR Hauck piped for the G/F and this thing is the cat a$$ when you get on it, plus theyre super reliable even when piped. Her sled has just over 6000 miles and it still pulls real hard.

the sxr motor has a lot u can get out of it and realy maintnace free. viper u have power valves that need cleaning and adjusting. sxr is a great sled i had one. my only complaint was the suspention front and rear took me 3 years to dile the rear in decent and thatw as with an ohlin. but the viper has the same suspention so theres nothing to gain suspention wise with the viper. id stick with the sxr.

Yea I have a expert x and I want the duel headlight setup. The viper has the duel setup and I can put on the expert x on that.

I am just wondering why is everyone going for the viper over the sxr then? It just seems that you gain more with the viper.

Thanks yes it took me a yrs to figure out the front suspension. I am happy with that. As far as the rear goes I got a expert x for that problem.

Stock vs Stock Id agree to cause of the extra HP and throttle respose but a modded SXR vs a stock Viper is a no brainer for me esp. if your already Experted. You want more light get a brighter bulb.

Well I did the brighter bulb but it is still not bright enough. Yea I just needed some more feedback on this like I said. My sled is stock with the expert x ready to go in. Before I go and finish this up and try and get mine setup for a duel light I wanted to ask.

Alot of people buy a viper to pipe it. Sure, a SXR wil weigh less but there is so much more you can do to a viper. Overall with the same amount/type of mods done on both sleds, the viper will be on top. Power valves are really not that big a deal to clean. Youll spend more on the viper, probabaly more just to buy the sled and mods will cost more, pipes, than ya need adequete cooling and the list goes on and on.

Why an srx? I want to keep my electric start & reverse with the duel light.
that is why I want the viper over my sxr I do not think I will ever put a pipe on my sled but we will see.

SRX= performance.....sounds like you want a nice trail sled though. I love the looks of a viper over just about anything.....I would buy one just for that alone if I wanted a new sled. I love my SRX, our sxr is nice, have finally fixed the burble thanks to MRVIPER. Little running things like the burble do not happen on SRX's & vipers from my knowledge. PV's are easy to clean and adjust. After driving a SRX on smooth trails or across a lake you'll want one. The happy medium between an SXR and SRX is a viper.
