I am looking for my first sled and have always likied yamaha and am considering the SRX for it's reliability and power. Some have told me I am better off with a Viper or SXR. How do these compare stock and what happens with Expert X or the ZR suspe by AD Boivin? IS it a pain tp put a Reverse in a SRX do you need
REverse that much? Ive only ridden my buddies 900 AC. Some have told me due to suspension problems I should go with an MXZ or Polaris...
But id rather have a bulletproof motor and tinker with the Suspension than have a motor blow up..

Also
to the forum.
If you do some searching you will find almost anything you need to know about the 3 sleds. It just takes a while to go through 1000,000,000 threads.
Also good luck on what ever you decide![Ban :ban: :ban:](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/ban.gif)

go yamaha suspension can be worked with do whatever you want i only run grommed trails my sx 700 is great softened suspension installed benders adjustible transfer rods the helped the most due to being able to adjust coupling and weight tranfer ive seen other rods and they didnt have this option iam not sure if there is others that you have both adjustments but ive owned many yammie and ive towed more sleds home mine always gets me home service pull and go
if you are a trail rider then you want the sxr or a viper. the srx only has 8" of travel on the rear whereas the sxr/viper is 11.5" of travel. now lots of guys here have gotten srx's to ride really well with stock travel and others have long traveled them useing sxr/viper parts. all sleds you have mentioned are awsome sleds and would serve you well. you just need to pick the sled your buget can afford and make it suit you.

Also to add depends on how much power your looking for, does it matter to
you?, all yamaha's had great reliability, but say with a SRX your going to
have a little more maintanace to do with the power valves and all and like
said they had 8.5" of travle vs. 11.5, but if serviced well they can ride
pretty good.

Depends on what your looking for, like the others said. Stock for stock, the SRX has the most ponies. I would compare the prices between a suspension for the SRX vs adding triples to the Viper if you want it to be comparable power-wise to the SRX.

SRX Mountain? Are they like that from the factory or something someone modded? Arent the SXR and Viper similiar? How much power do they have and topsepeed? I thought of eventually having two machines....Like someone said before... You guys are superknowledgeable and helpful here. Kind of like people who drive Jeeps.
I have a frend north of me who likes rebuilding older Artic Cat's (won't hold it against him..) I kind of like these yammies..

I must add ,I like fooling with my rides and usually end up chipping and hopping up the motors for extra power. These suspension mods do they add travel to the SRX? or is it mainly for running lakes?

Srx Vs Viper
I Have Both And Like Both. My Srx Now Has A Viper Rear Suspension And A Wide Kit. Very Easy To Do, The Srx Is Actually Better On Fuel Than The Viper. If You Want To Ride Hard The Srx Is Better For You Try And Find A 2001 Or 2002 Srx. They Are Slightly Better Than The Early Ones

SRX comes with triple pipes, has about 140hp.
Viper comes with a single pipe, has about 119hp.

the mountain version comes like that from factory....i use my sled for all types of riding trail cross country and powder.....there about 140 or so hp but with porting job should be around 155.....top speed is around 100-110 mph or so with the 136 x 1.5 track it kinda slows it down a bit....

I didn't realize there was that much difference in hp. Aren't the motors very similar except for the pipes?
