What do I need to do to mount a 1.25 ripsaw in my viper. With 2700 kms should I replace any bearings or just change them all once I am in there.
I heard the tunnel protectors need to be removed, what about the heat exchanger guards?
Any tips would ease my install.
Thx Dave

I had put the same track in and I removed all the protectors. Once your in the chain case, replace the bearings. Cheap and then u know they are good.

Remove the protectors, leave everything else. but give it a good look over. NO need to replace bearings in a chaincase with only 2700 kms on it

Wow, my reply makes 3 guys from Winnipeg with 03 Vipers in this thread. Cool, we'll have to get together for a Viper only run!

I put a 1.25 predator in my 04 Viper ER. I left the protectors in place. I get a little rub on the protectors on deceleration from over 75MPH or so. Not enough that I am going to worry about it. The predator has grooves in it for the protectors, can't speak to the ripsaw.

on my brothers viper we just left the prortectors in place. made assembly with the ripsaw a little tighter but was still fine. bros sled is a 02 with 4500km at the time and all bearings where smooth including spedo. so we just re-assembled it.

I put the Ice Ripper on my 02'. We left the the tunnel protectors in and there was enough clearance, aswell there was lots of room at the heat exchanger. We did the bearings and slides too. It works pretty good!
