I've got a 97 vamx 700 and it used to hit at around 39 to 4000 and all of a sudden it hits at 2000 i don't know whats going on with it i tried a couple of different belts and cleaned the clutch...i don't know could something have broken off of the weight or something like that?.......someone please help...i don't know what size of weight are on them ether.

your primary spring might be broken . if it had a stuck or broken weight it would also have a bad vibration.

theres no more vibration than there ever was
You gotta have a busted or sacked out primary spring.

ok well i went out on a Friday night and Saturday morning it was hitting at 2000 thousand i did know what was going on i got a spare primary clutch kicking around ill try that one. thanks turk
