Viper 780 with single pipe? Has anyone tried to make it work? I realize it's not going to make full power, but will it be reliable? I just put it back together and ran it around the yard, seems to be fine. My wife will be the only one ridding it or a backup sled. Any input is appriated.

I have thought about this before.......Hmmmm .....should work though. Especially with a Heavy Hitter clutch setup. I use HH's and really like the wide tuneability. I guess the biggest thing will be to figure out your jetting. I would assume it will need more fuel. It should have alot more torque in the trails.

I thought about the jetting, the bigbore with pipes uses the same jetting as a stock bore with pipes. Right now I have stock jetting but I'm going to moniter it.

A friend of mine has a 780, he got tired of being pulled over for the pipes. He put the stock exhaust on and called me wanting to know what to do. I told him who knows, put 157.5s in it and raise the needles a half clip, call me if it makes it through the weekend. He's been running it like that for 2 seasons now, go figure, he loves it, said he thought there was no reason to try and tune it any better..........................

Well Mark is still running his the way it is, probably rich but he doesn't care, he loves it, so I myself made an 800 single pipe last year. It's lots of fun in the woods corner to corner, it's a little bit faster than a 700 but if you like that 30 to 90 punch it's the $hit.

We made a couple 765 SX singles in the past but the SX pipe didn't have enough volume for the extra cc's, it would run great till you made a long pull on the lake and they would seize. When the Viper came out we put that exhaust on it and it fixed the problem.

Soon I'm going to put it on the dyno and fool with a couple single pipes see if I can get a little more out of my 8. The problem with mine was when I made the Y pipe with the 800 jugs it screwed up my tuned length so I have to fudge the pipe itself a little and it will get better. With Viper cyls and exhaust it seems to work just fine, we just turne danother one loose last weekend.
