All my research told me that the cylinders and piston were the same for the early 80's to 2000, 480/500 phazers. 72mm pistons. Ibought a used cylinder and piston off ebay and it isnt the same size as the good one I already have. I dont have a way to measure it but it seems about 1mm bigger. What will the effects be if I just go ahead and use it? Also the two ears on my original piston the ones on the intake side are broken off about a quarter inch, what will this do if I just put it together? I want to ride and we just got a foot of snow last night and maybe another foot tomarrow.

you should take it some where to be measured out but both cylinders/pistons need to be the same.... im not to sure why but i think one would be caring the load.... and the chipps i would run new pistons ... just had to do that with my vmax.... i sure some of the tech guys will jump in soon
