01 srx I want to get new rear skid for better ride and better hole shot is the bender rear skid any good and does anyone have one.

I'm not sure if you get still get them, haven't heard anything about Bender for a while now.

Bender is still in business. Something happened at the beginning of the year but I forgot what exactly, but while that was going on I still ordered a set of pipes from them.

Ah Ok, ya I think they moved or something?!?! I had checked the website a while ago but most of it was still under construction. I sure wouldn't mind seeing what the suspension looked like or hearing some feedback from someone who had one.

DynoPort, manufacturer of exhaust systems and go-fast parts for Ski-Doo and Polaris models, has acquired the assets of Yamaha aftermarket specialists Bender Racing. The acquisition includes all of the Bender Racing products, with the exception of ALL turbo kits. The two have long worked together, with Dyno Port manufacturing many of the Bender exhaust systems during that time.
Word is a shop will remain open in Colden, NY, with parts shipments being made from both locations. Key personnel remain in place to maintain knowledgeable service and support. DynoPort.com or BenderRacing.com

I was in Hacker's Yamaha last SUnday, and they had one on display in the showroom.

the bender monoskid is a copy of the yamaha mono & works great. they never went out of business & are shipping parts as i type. the business is back @ the original location on cole rd. in the town of boston, ny about 20 min. south of buffalo, ny. the new owner is rich daly of dyno port fame & owner of many other successful businesses. they are a distributor for cpr turbo ( front mount ) systems. justin fuller was benders shop foreman & engine builder for many years. he now has his own business - full power performance & builds the old bender rear mount turbo's.
rich bought the business from terry paine about 1.5 yrs ago ( who bought it from tim about 7 years prior ). rich has since dumped a bunch of $$$ into fattening up inventory so parts are shipped in a timely fashion. they are currently working on their web site which when completed will be second to none.
i do not work for benders but i do share some facility space with them & have done & still do r&d with them on some of their product development so i have a pretty good idea on what is happening.

I've always like Bender products but unfortunatly the web site has been "under construction" for the past 6 months and the site still looks the same now as it did then :dunno:
I got tired of waiting and decided just to pick up a Viper suspension.

unfortunately the cost ( time & $$ ) of r&d to bring the turbo to fruition was a big reason why terry decided to sell the business.
fortunately rich came along with what seems to be some pretty deep pockets & a great " get r done " attitude. having been around bender racing since tim started the business i can tell you that things are close to as good as they ever were.
there were a lot of loose ends to clean up in the transition from terry to rich, one of them being the web site. it's a lot easier & less time consuming to build a motor from new parts than it is to rebuild one that someone blew up - no difference with a business. the web site is being worked on now.

That's great to hear, thanks for the excellent info!!

My Local Dealer Said Purchase And Install For No More Than $2,000. Im Guessing The\unit Goes For Some Where Around $1,200 - $1,500

Wow, I had a deposit on one which never showed up and the total was $950,thats a bit of an increase.I have a feeling the price will hurt the sales of that suspension, especially considering that you don't even get a complete setup like an m-10 or expert ect.Time will tell, but I sure have'nt heard of many people running them and have never saw one at sled pitstops.

That's high considering you can get the legendary m10 for $1249 or the new Airwave for $1795

I have yet to even see a pic of this mythical skid or even a mention of it on benders site or on the web anywhere :dunno:
