I just completed re-jetting my SX-R700 and opened up the airbox using the (7) hole method in the tech section.

I went from the factory 145/143.8/143.8 TO:143.8/142.5/142.5

My plugs have been dripping wet/black and I have dropped down a little in the past and cleared things up.

NOW: Sled starts up the same, runs great all the way up, but after a hard pull to 90 and a slow down, it seems to starve for fuel and almost sounds like a cylinder is going. The RPMS drop and it seems like it is only running on 2 cylinders and has no power to get going again. I don't think that this is the jetting that I put in, but rather the increase in air flow and after a hard pull it can't get itself back on the idle side of things I am guessing??

I did NOT adjust the air screws under the carbs when jetting!

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I just cover the holes up and put it back to stock jetting...:)

you will fight that thing till you burn it down qwith that mod. Get a stock shelf for it or cover it somehow. maxdlx

I can cover it real easy. Would you cover the top cap as well just beneath the foam element??

The jetting will be ok right??

I didn't notice any difference with this mod even at elevation, with or without pipes. I riveted a piece of plastic over the top of the box and the shelf to return it to stock. Oh yeah, one difference, way louder.
