HI everyone, hoping someone can help me out here. I have an 02 Mountain Max 700 triple. Same as 97-02 non powervalved triples sx,sxr etc. I had been running bender triples on it for the last few years and with new laws and cracking down on noise and exhaust modifications i figured i would go back to stock with it and give it to my son. Removed the triples and rejetted carb back to stock etc and now i am having trouble with ignition side cylnder not firing properly. If i remove the plug cap and let it just kinda rest on top of plug cylinder comes to lilfe but when i drop plug cap down cylinder goes out. really bizarre. I have put on three new ngk plug caps and still have problem any ideas out there?
Thanks Dan
Thanks Dan
Had the same problem last year on a 97 SX 700 I had (same motor) It ended up being a bad coil. Check the carbs too while your at it. pilots could also so plugged.
You are heating up the spark by what you are doing. This is telling me you have to much gas in that jug for the plug, or the plug is going bad. Try a new plug, or try turning the fuel screw in 1/4 turn. Maxdlx

HI Maxdlx,
You say to turn in the fuel screw a 1/4 of a turn. Why am i having a brain cramp on this. Which screw is that and will that have enough of an impact? I just tried to get it running again and it seems to have alot of unburnt fuel cause it wants to partially backfire, i noticed this in the y pipe.
thanks guys

The coils all fire at the same time so switch the center and pto plug and see if it moves to the center jug. I also pm'd you back. Maxdlx
